Essential oil are most commonly put in a warmer. Underneath is a small tea light candle, it heats up the oil and the scent permeates through the air.





Most stores that carry candles or the essential oils will also carry the burners.

You can also put a couple of drops on a light bulb..or a couple of drops on a piece of blotter paper. You can put this in your purse, desk, locker or drawers. I keep a scented paper in my pillow--it is lavender.

Essential oils can be diffused into the air with a diffusor or with a duft-lamp that uses heat. If you use a duft-lamp, be sure to add enough water to keep the oils from burning. Combusted oils are ineffective, they are not incense.

Calming Scents


Crazy day at school got you stressed? All nervous for the drama club’s auditions? Here are some tips on using aromatherapy to soothe your frayed nerves.

How to Chill:





• Sprinkle bath salts in any of the above “flavors” into a nice warm bath. The soothing scent mixed with some quality “you “ time in a nice, long soak will leave you feeling relaxed.





• Spray your pillows and sheets with an aromatherapy spritz a few minutes before you go to sleep. The scent will help lull you off to la-la land.





• Tea is always a calming solution. Boil up some water and drop in a bag of chamomile for a comforting and soothing sip of relaxation.

How to Revitalize:

Traditionally known to help sooth emotional extremes, lavender may aid the body's calming response during headaches and help soothe tired muscles. A drop or two on the pillow at night may glide you into a restful night's sleep. Lavender is gentle to the skin and when applied may bring the aromatic influence of love and peace.
