ive always wanted to do it but some of the oils used in persific treatments im allergic to. is it still possable to do it?I want to do an aromatherapy course, but i have allergies to some of the oils, can i still do it?
Allergies to essential oils are quite rare but senstivity can develop sometimes through contunual use. Other factors which might be responsible are - how pure were the oils, how were they used, at what strength etc etc.

I would do the course. You will learn alot about how to use the oils and may find some oils can be used with caution, as well as learning what alternatives there are to oils you cannot tolerate at all. Good Luck!I want to do an aromatherapy course, but i have allergies to some of the oils, can i still do it?
how do u know that u are allergic ? and if you are sure that u are I cannot see how you can work with the oils and not react.
of course. take the course and tell the instructor what you are allergic to. they will be of big help to you. have fun

Do not use essential oils for cooking. Essential oils should not be taken internally, they are for the outside of the body only and should be diluted with some kind of carrier oil.
Gather together all kinds of pretty smelling things, put them in a press one by one, and squeeze them until all the pretty smelling stuff drips out. Careful, because this method usually kills the pretty smelling things.

Essential Oils are made by a certain way that the natural volatile oils are extracted from the plant's leaves, flowers and buds.

Absolute Oils are also derived from the plant, but more of the leaves and stems are used, so it is not as desirable for therapeutic uses, however, it can be used for Fragrance Oils.

Fragrance Oils are mostly synthetic oils used for fragrances of bath and body products, candles, and spray scents used in the home.

Aromatherapy is the way the EO is used.
You can use essential oils on your skin and even internally, depending on the oil. You can also use essential oils to perfume or even treat the air in your environment.

';Aromatherapy grade'; oils can only be used to perfume your environment.
i think one is refined a little more then the other

Difference between essential and aromatherapy grade oils?

please let me know????Difference between essential and aromatherapy grade oils?
As far as I know there isn't a standard for advertising ';aromatherapy grade'; oils. I'd just assume that all pure essential oils are aromatherapy grade, so it's kind of redundant to call it that.

You can buy essential oils at most health food stores that are pure and good for beginners. Look for ';100% essential oil'; or ';pure essential oil'; on the label. I'd suggest sticking with them for a bit, and if you get more into aromatherapy, you can buy from suppliers online who specialize in essential oils.

Check out this website for more tips about purchasing oils:

And FYI, essential oils can't be made at home, unless you have a home distiller, because they're steam distilled. Plants constituents extracted into alcohol are tinctures, not essential oils. They are two different things.Difference between essential and aromatherapy grade oils?
essential oils can be ingested and aromatherapy oils are used for their scent.
Most Essential Oils CANNOT be ingested as the plant oils are too concentrated and may harm you. Please consult an Aromatherapist or Herbalist for more information.

Essential Oils are made by pulling the volatile oils into an alcohol compound. Some people can make this at home with some herbs using a very high grade of Vodka, as high proof as you can get. Most require more processing to extract the oils, such as Rose EO.

Aromatherapy is how EO is used, say in massage or to scent a pillow at bedtime to sleep or to relax the muscles in a bath.
essential oils? or essential fatty acids? Essential fatty acids are the fatty acids that are not made by the body and must be eaten for repair of body tissues.....Aromatherapy oils are used externally for massages and relaxation

How do I get the best out of aromatherapy oils?

I have some oil burners at home and have bought some fragrance oils for burning. The sales ppl told me to drop the oil (1-2 drops) into water and light the tea light. However, after a while, the water starts boiling but the scent of the oil doesn't come out at all. Am I doing something wrong? I've tried a variety of oils but they have the same effect. Please help! How do I get the best out of aromatherapy oils?
I use a ceramic oil burner every night with lavender oil in it because it helps me sleep and makes my room smell nice =]

Im not sure how to fix the boiling water, maybe try using a bigger oil burner with a smaller tea light? And i dont put 1-2 drops of oil in it, i nearly use half the bottle.haha. Try putting 10 drops in...and if you have trouble sleeping try the lavender oil, it works wonders =]How do I get the best out of aromatherapy oils?
For most candle-heated oil burners you need more than one or two drops of oil to smell anything.a Try adding more oil, like five or six drops.

You can also get an electric 'diffuser,' but I prefer using the candle and burner myself. I've never used one, so I don't know how much oil they take.

What kind of burners are you using? Are they the ceramic ones with the shallow bowls? You have to be careful with those because the water can evaporate quickly. They can also crack from the prolonged heat of the candle. I like the metal ones better, if only because I know they won't break from the heat.

What is the difference between Aromatherapy Oils & Essential Oils?

There is no such thing as Aromatherapy oils. There is Aromatherapy, which is the practice of using essential oils and other fragrant oils to alter mood or health.

Essential oils are just one type of oil used in aromatherapy. The others include, fragrant oils and hyrosols (floral waters). What is the difference between Aromatherapy Oils %26amp; Essential Oils?
Aromatherapy Oils is just a marketing term. Often enough, sadly enough, these aren't even oils that you should use, because most of them are (very) inpure and should not be used in the purpose of therapy through oils, in which form whatsoever. The best thing these offer is a fragrance so that it smells good in your house, just like those boxes or blocks you can find in the general store to place on your toilet so that it smells good.

Essential oils are pure oils that are used for therapy through aroma's, either applied with a carrier oil on the skin, evaporated with a aromalamp or inhaled through adding some drops of pure essential oil to a bowl of hot water. Even here, inpure forms are available.

But the biggest difference between these 2 will be the price: aromatherapy oils will cost significantly less then essential oils. The process of extracting essential oils is tricky and uses experience, time, precision and specific tools. The cheap stuff isn't even an extraction of material from plants or herbs, it's synthetic stuff... which explains the cheap price. What is the difference between Aromatherapy Oils %26amp; Essential Oils?
aromatherapy oils are made of essential oils to health the body and mind

essential oils are the oils extracted from plants, they are used for everything, including being mixed to create aromatherapy oils which stimulate certain effects on the body.

example. rosemary essential oil is used to cut grease and in aromatherpy to enhance the memory
The difference is how many monies the spa or penny store can convince you to accept and pay.

I could say that Aroma Therapy is for Brain and Mind because smelling is a sense. And Essential is to make death, disease and IDS because it is physical.

The aroma one is true, it may smell nice or pleasing to some, some chemicals or aromas can make a person die,or not.

The essential is true, some drugs or poisons can enter the bloodstream via the contact with the skin and make a person die,

or not.

How much a human is willing or not willing to use the two is the only difference.

I actually remember Snake Oils, people use to drink that. They got drunk. or died.
Aromatherapy has oils of good fragrance freshen ur mind n spirit.

Essential oils has no good smell. Just to provide enough vitamins n stuffs to ur skin n bones.
i think this is just semantics. I buy wholesale and make my own remedies which I sell. I interchange the words as they are mostly the same to me and to the vendors on the Internet. But if you really want to get really technical then I would say that Aromatherapy is the healing modality and essential oils are the oils extracted from plants used to make aromatherapy products. in this context essential does not mean ';needed'; like for example vitamin C is essential(needed) to prevent scurvy.
Sounds like a scam to me.

I have used aromatherapy for years, and never used anything but essential oils.

Watch out for fragrance oils. These are very weak diluted oils where they use a few drops of Essential Oil then fill the bottle up with grapeseed or jojoba oils, and blend.

  • Aromatherapy oils for Fresher Laundry?

I use natural detergents in my home. I would like to use aromatherapy oils for fresher smelling laundry (to be used in the washing machine) but am unsure of how to go about this. I have looked at many sites and NONE of them have specified weather the oils go into the actual drum of the front loader or the detergent dispenser with the laundry gel or even with the fabric softner. I want to add lavender or orange oil to the actual wash-not the tumble dry option as I live in a Very hot climate and rarely have need for the tumble dryer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Aromatherapy oils for Fresher Laundry?
Lavender has a floral scent and is used in perfumery. It is used to treat just about everything - from acne to vertigo. It is one of the safest of all of essentail oils and one of the few that can be used directly on the skin. Lavender buds are also boiled like tea and consumed internally.

To use lavender in the washing machine just use a few drops alongside with your laundry gel or with the softner, as you prefer. Lavender oil is absolutely safe for the skin.
