Is it ok to use lavender oil in the bath ?

Hello every one hope your all well and ok :D





Im 39 weeks + 1 day This friday coming im going to be 40 weeks and having a membrane sweep but for this to be affective your cervix need to be thinnend out enough .


And i got told that lavender oils in the bath can help to thin out your cervix has any one tried this before if so did it work ?


And how affective is it ?


Can it harm my baby ?

Lavender oil is the least harmful of the essential oils - but having said that I would not recommend its use for you at this time.


The oils will be absorbed thru your skin into your bloodstream and thus into the babys' and may be a bit difficult for the babys kidneys and liver to deal with. Lots of newborns have trouble getting their kidneys/livers started anyway,this is rarely much of a problem but the added stress of the oils might be.
