Aromatherapy--too many essential oil drops coming out?

I have a problem with the dropper aspect of the essential oil bottles. Too many drops come out waaaay too quickly. For example, a ';recipe'; calls for 3 drops of lavender, but my bottle drops out alot more than that as soon as I tip it over. What can I do to remedy this?

any suggestions?Aromatherapy--too many essential oil drops coming out?
Easy. Get a sqeeze tube dropper. (think of an extremely tiny version of like a turkey baster.) You suck a little bit into the dropper and very slowly squeeze out the desired number of drops. Then squeeze the rest back into the bottle. And wash the dropper and air dry it when you are done. I had a couple of bottles i bought from a botanical store that didn't come with a dropper top, so this is what I used instead. Worked like a charm!Aromatherapy--too many essential oil drops coming out?
i sell aromatherapy remedies... very gently pull out the insert with a pair of pliers or stick a fork tine down the hole and pop out the insert. Be sure to hold the bottle very firmly. i hate those things and i never use them in the bottles i sell... now get a medicine dropper and use that to measure out your oil/ keep the bottle closed when not in immediate use because the oils are very volitile and the healing aromatics will drift away and weaken the lavender to some degree. even though lavender can be applied neat you should mix the 3 drops in a little bit of lotion if you want to put it directly on the skin because if you put the lavender directly on a finger to rub it on your temple( for a migraine for example) the oil will penetrate the finger before you can get to the temple.the lotion will keep the lavender from disappearing too quickly
sure

Get a medicine dropper that will fit in the bottle

Of get one of those plastic inserts that will go in the opening and allow you to use just one drop if you like.

I think Lavendar Lane sells them; or at least they did.
