Do essential oils and aromatherapy really work?

The effect would be the same as listening to music.

It just puts you in a more comfortable setting.

But YOU have to ENJOY the smell you can't just get random smells.

People who believe it works probably still believe organic food is better for you.Do essential oils and aromatherapy really work?
Yes for some people it can be very effective.

Aromatherapy uses essential oils extracted from nature鈥檚 herbs and flowers. The aroma is inhaled, or applied to the skin, and each of the oils (or combination thereof) addresses a specific disorder. It appears that the body is able to utilize the healing properties of the oils through the olfactory system of the body, and so initiate the healing process. Aromatherapy practitioners would also have an understanding of the psychological and emotional factors of illness.

This website has some great information and articles about Aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy Blends - http://www.aromatherapy-blends.netDo essential oils and aromatherapy really work?
Yes, aromatherapy does really work. Not just as a relaxant ';like music';, but in many other ways. Stress relief, insomnia, lack of focus, headaches, sinusitis, muscle aches, and cleaning are just a few things it can help with. Almost any affliction can be helped with aromatherapy, although for more serious ones, aromatherapy should be used in conjunction with synthetic medicine.

Essential oils must be used in order for it to be truly considered aromatherapy. Fragrance oils, scented candles, and body lotion are not aromatherapy, even if they claim it on their label.

P.S.. Someone else suggested Young Living. Please do not support this person. He is a business man, a shady one at that, not an aromatherapist. He suggests some awfully unsafe practices, and he gives all aromatherapists a bad name.
Essential oils and aromatherapy will reflect the interactions between an individual鈥檚 psychological, neurology and immune system.

You will find that aromatherapy actually works because it utilizes your sense of smell, which is your strongest sense. Dislike other, your sense of smell has a path that leads directly to the brain, but more importantly that it has a direct path to your limbic system.

It has been scientifically and medically proven that through this direct portal, aromas are able to directly affect conscious thought and your reactions, because the limbic system is responsible for our memories (from short to long term), learned responses, and our emotions and feelings.
Of course it works.Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils, absolute oils and hydrosols. For some uses aromatherapy may include the use fragrance oils. Aromatherapy is an off-shoot of herbology. The use of aromatherapy may be best known in the following areas skin care, emotional, holistic or medical healing ,you can refer this website which is dedicated for armotheraphy related information and user testimonials http://www.chiactivate.com/products/arom鈥?/a>
Yes, they do (pause...gotta wait for them to stop giving me the thumbs down for having the audacity to use and believe in something other than conventional medicine ;). If you really are curious as to how and why, you can check out this site, they explain it way better than I ever could:

Essential oils and aromatherapy are more than just smelling the oils, you can use them topically and internally as well.
Yes they really do work but the effect is minimal. Combine the aromatherapy with soothing music soft lights and a comfortable chair. Not a bed or you may fall asleep.
